When an animal is involved in a car accident, high-energy trauma often results in multiple system and multi-site composite injuries. Among these, orthopedic injuries are the most common, including multiple fractures, ligament ruptures, dislocations, and varying degrees of soft tissue contusion and strain. After injury, the animal typically exhibits lameness and pain, severely affecting mobility and quality of life.

In this case, the patient suffered a pelvic fracture and multiple ligament ruptures in the knee joint due to a car accident. To address the ligament rupture in the knee, the surgeon used HealFix titanium anchor and a TPLO plate to repair the lateral collateral ligament (LCL) and cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) of the stifle joint.
