Procedure

Intracapsular Fixation for Cranial Cruciate Ligament Rupture

Procedure Introduction
1. Open up the pathway

2. Locate and clean the CrCL rupture end

3. The guide is positioned at the lateral femoral stop of the CrCL, and the Kirschner wire is driven obliquely to the lateral side of the head.

4. The femoral tunnel was drilled using a 2.0mm cannulated drill.

5. Saline flushing of the bone tunnel and pre-tapping of the femoral tunnel with a tap.

6. Locate the lateral tibial stop of the CrCL with the aimer and insert Kirschner wire. K wire exit at 2cm at least below the joint line.

7. Use a 2.0 mm cannulated drill to drill the tibial bone tunnel.

8. Use saline to flush the bone tunnel and use a tap to pre-tap the tibial tunnel.

9. Thread the artificial ligament through the tibial tunnel using a threader.

10. Thread the artificial ligament through the femoral tunnel using a threader.

11. Tighten the ligament, move the joint and fix the ligament with hemostats at the right angle.

12. Squeeze the metal extrusion nail into the femoral and tibial tunnels successively to fix the ligament.

13. Cutting off excess ligament and close the incision.
