Procedure

Elbow Collateral Ligament Reconstruction

Procedure Introduction
1. Use a guide to aim at the center of the distal humeral condyle, insert the Kirschner wire into the pre-drilled tunnel, and create the bone tunnel using an appropriate hollow drill.

2. Use a tap to pre-treat the tunnel.

3. Insert the Kirschner wire at the site of the lateral collateral ligament insertion at the proximal radius, and drill the tunnel using a hollow drill of appropriate size.

4. Wash the tunnel with saline and pre-treat it with a tap.

5. Insert the Kirschner wire at the site of the lateral collateral ligament insertion at the proximal ulna, and drill the tunnel using a hollow drill of appropriate size.

6. Wash the tunnel with saline and pre-treat it with a tap.

7. Pass the ligament through the titanium plate, and use a passer to thread both ligament strands through the humeral tunnel.

8. Pass the two ligament strands through the radial and ulnar bone tunnels respectively.

9. Apply appropriate tension and evaluate the elbow joint's mobility and stability.

10. When the tension is appropriate, place an interface screw in each bone tunnel.

11. Cut off the excess ligament strands.
